ETW Europe: Why It’s a Must-Attend and What I’m Excited For

As we gear up for Energy Trading Week (ETW) Europe 2025, I find myself reflecting on just how much this event has evolved, and how integral it’s become to the European energy trading community. I’ve been attending since 2017, through its many incarnations (yes, even the online Covid-era editions!) And each year, I’ve come away with something new; insight, inspiration, or just the sheer energy that comes from connecting with people who get this market.

This year will be my second ETW in my current role leading the Fidectus sales team, and I’m particularly excited to bring along some new sales colleagues and the enmacc team. It’s our first year sharing a stand together, which is a big milestone, one that reflects our deepening partnership and growing collaboration. We’re proud to bring both teams to ETW, working side by side to accelerate innovation digitalising the OTC market; delivery the ease and efficiency of electronic trading with the flexibility of OTC. It’s about helping the market not just evolve, but truly thrive.

What am I looking forward to most? Simple: the people. For all the innovation, regulation, and change we’re navigating as an industry, it’s the conversations that count. Whether it’s catching up over coffee, swapping notes on what’s keeping us up at night, or seeing what’s new from vendors on the floor, ETW is where those touchpoints happen.

I’ve always seen ETW as the premier UK-based event for the European energy market. It’s grown impressively year after year, and I think that speaks volumes about both its relevance and its value. My advice to anyone attending, especially first-timers, is to make the most of the full experience. Don’t just sit in on the plenaries (though there are some fantastic panels lined up); walk the halls, visit the vendor stands, strike up conversations. Some of the best insights I’ve gathered have come from unexpected chats on the sidelines.

In an industry that can feel big from the outside, events like ETW remind you that we're a close-knit village, working with common goals in a market that’s increasingly complex and critically important. That’s part of what keeps me coming back, and why I’m genuinely looking forward to what this year’s event has in store.

Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
